Located at Hong Kong Pacific Place, one of the global top ten luxury shopping destinations crowded with world famous brands, top shopping centers and dining options, AMC Pacific Place Broadway Cinema also has extremely high requirements for its movie viewing qualities. The cinema was opened in December, 2006, built with sci-fi design elements, such as the floating ticket counters and U-shape corridors like time tunnels. The cinema has 6 halls and nearly 600 seats in total. In order to continuously provide better qualities for movie fans and demonstrate its high-end positioning, AMC Pacific Broadway Cinema carried out the ALPD® laser light upgrade for Hall No.6 in 2015 and received positive reviews from the audience.
30,000 Hours of Stable Brightness Output
Located at the prosperous business center and facing at high-end audience, AMC Pacific place Broadway Cinema has always been adhering to the notion of providing top viewing experience for its audience. To further enhance projection brightness, the cinema took the lead in trying the ALPD® laser light source upgrade in Hall No.6 in 2015. The width of the screen is 8.2m. After upgrade, the 2D brightness is increased from 73.3FL to 85.3FL and the 3D brightness is increased from 18.6FL to 21.2FL. More importantly, the ALPD® laser light source can maintain 80% of its initial brightness and provide high-quality projection effects consistently within 30,000 hours.
ALPD® Does Not Need to Replace Light Source and Is Easy to Maintain
In addition to the high-quality projection effects and stable brightness output, compared with the traditional xenon light source, the ALPD® laser light source does not need to replace the lamps during its 30,000-hour service life. To a large extent, it has brought great convenience to cinema equipment maintenance. Professional technicians are no longer required to replace the lamps, avoiding the problem of xenon bulbs bursting caused by improper operations. At the same time, it has also improved the cinema operation efficiency and saves the time and labour costs significantly.
So far, the laser light source of Hall No.6 in AMC Pacific Place Broadway Cinema has been running smoothly for nearly 7 years without failure.
